Daffodil

A few weeks ago we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated and while we looked around Kiera ended up finding a little chick beanie baby that she wanted to buy. Since she had her purse with her that day Jimmy helped her count her money to see if she had enough to buy it. It was 3 or 4 dollars and she had enough to purchase it.

This little duckling has not left her side except when she is at school. She has never been so attached to anything, well except her pink blanket. Luckily she doesn't have a meltdown if they are unavailable for whatever reason. But little Daffodil (that is what the tag says is her name) is the first thing she looks for in the mornings if she lost a hold of her during the night. We think it's probably because she picked it out and bought it with her own money. It's special.

One night Daffodil ran away for the evening because Kiera said a bad word. Daffodil did not like it one bit but she came back to Kiera the next day. Kiera was very upset that she didn't get to see her come to life, and yes she cried about it.  I had to explain that Daffodil is like the toys on Toy Story and only come to life when you aren't looking. That helped calm her down. And that if she says those bad words again Daffodil would probably run away again and we don't want that.  Man am I good and thinking up these things to calm her down.  And I do not think she will be scarred for life.  Kiera runs on emotions so someones feelings being hurt because of something she did will have more of an impact on her than anything else we could take away from her, like tv or some other toy.

Very smart. If I thought the stuff around me came to life when I was asleep I would never fall asleep. That's some scary sh**!
