Who wants to jump on the crazy train with me? No one? Dang.
I really don't know what has gotten into me these days with my sewing machine. Ever since I figured out how to operate it I am itching to make things. Like what you ask? Oh how about a bag. Yep I did. I decided to make a bag. As usual there is no tutorial, since I didn't use a pattern and I just went for it. I used an old shirt of Jimmy's that I love (duh, the plaid) and some brown fabric I at from a garage sale last year.
I needed a model to show the size of the bag, and since I was not going get in front of the camera in my PJ's I volunteered a much cuter choice. Someone get this girl an agent!
My seams are looking much better and I think I have completely figured out how to operate my machine. At the beginning of this project the thread on the bottom side of the seam was all loose and loopy and I had no idea what the heck was going on. I tried messing around with the tension, then the pull thingy under the foot (still don't know if that is right) and then I saw what was wrong. It was literally right in front of my face. Li.ter.a.lly. The thread wasn't hanging on to this hoop thingy that provides the tension. Wow...that was clear and helpful. Not. Once that was fixed I was on a roll. I even decided to add some little pleats so it wasn't so flat. Only a crazy person would attempt to add pleats to a bag the 6th time they have ever used a sewing machine, IE me.
I also added a pocket to the inside made out of a piece of a sleeve.

It isn't a reversible but I pulled it inside out just to show what it looks like.

Ahhhh, there are many ideas of what I would like to make next dancing through my head.
