I Am A Professional...

...cake decorator.  I worked at Merritt's Bakery for 8 years, 3 of which I was an assistant manager and 5 that I was a cake/cookie/cupcake decorator.  I think the most cakes I decorated in one day was like 40 cakes.  Yeah I said 40.  Cookies I did like 1000 in one day.   Yep you read that right too...one thousand. Cupcakes were pretty close to that also.  Now those were during holidays like Halloween and Christmas.

Here are a few of my favorite cakes I have pictures of.  These were all decorated with butter cream icing and drawn free handed.  Just for kicks I will tell you how long it took me to decorate each one.

This torso cake was for my longtime friends (like 16 years long) husband while she was pregnant with their 3rd baby boy.  We all go way back since they are high school sweethearts (who I set up) and I dated his cousin in high school.

I love decorating cakes and I did decorate on the side all last year but it (baking the cake, making the icing, decorating the cake) just takes too much time to do it on a regular basis since I already have a full time job.  Now I just do them for my them for my closest friends and family.
